Graduate Assistant – Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
2019-2021
I developed lesson plans and lectures to support the professor’s curriculum. I created assessments and provided assistance to students during the pandemic. I served as a Teaching Assistant under the supervision of Dr. Laura Fowler, Dr. Rowena McClinton, and Dr. Bryan Jack.
Archive Intern – Madison County Historical Society
2020
I archived and labeled documents for presentation within a digital system. This included collecting metadata and doing research to relate the documents to the wider collection. Additionally, I developed an exhibition titled “Ink to Paper: Exploring the Advancement of Letter Writing and Its Uses,” which was based on artifacts and information uniquely associated with Madison County.
Graduate Assistant – Middle Tennessee State University
2024-Present
Under the guidance of many great public and traditional historians, I have learned how to secure greater access to sources and present myself as a professional historian. I have gained valuable experience in understanding and leading my peers, which will undoubtedly enable me to become an excellent educator in the future. I deepened my understanding of how historians combine digital tools with physical sources to engage with the communities they study.
Graduate Assistant – Albert Gore Research Center
2024-Present
I worked at the reference desk, helping researchers find sources for their projects. I organized and preserved previously untouched collections, including separating and processing over 1,500 physical artifacts such as maps, floppy drives, CDs, and photographs. I also supported digitization efforts for the Senator William Frist Collection, frequently assisting with secondary preservation and working with ArchivesSpace.
